QuotesOnComics.com is exactly what its name says it is, a website with random quotes on comics, some hilarious, some dead serious, others thought-provoking, but all stimulating and thoroughly inspirational.

QuotesOnComics.com is run by Paulo PatrĂcio, a freelance graphic designer, comic book script writer and editor of Le Sketch, a free mini-comic with sketches from top-notch contemporary cartoonists and illustrators. Among other things, Paulo has contributed short stories and series to Portuguese and international magazines and newspapers, such as Expresso, Complot, Die Wochenzeitung, Quadrado, and Strapazin. His work has also been included in anthologies, such as Ilustração Portuguese and OuBaPo’s Oupus by L’Association. Between mid-90s and early 2000s, he wrote comic book reviews and essays for Portuguese magazines. So, one day, you might well find a quote by him in here.
Inspired by QuotesonDesign.com, QuotesOnComics.com was created in Wordpress, using a template modified from Blue Kino by Kino, with additional programming by José Carvalho.
Thanks also to José Rui, owner of Mundo Fantasma comic book store, for the motivation. Special thanks to those who tested the site before launch and provided useful feedback: Kate Bailey, Marco Riciputi, Roman Cho, Amelia Anthony and Gérard Blanchet

Hey Paulo,
My name is Tony Medeiros from Montreal and I print a newspaper about comic book entertainment called Sandbox World. Great idea with your site. Keep it up.

Nice idea. Some suggestions:
Place a “question mark” icon next to each contributor which allows one to click through to research who the source is.
Alphabetize the author index by last name. Redesign to make it easier to scan, perhaps as a list.
If possible, index the quotes so that keyword searching is possible.
And here’s a submission from President Clinton:
““When the other speakers were talking, I was sitting up here on the platform, listening and reveling. And they got talking about work, and I got to thinking about all the different things I’ve done to make a
living in my life. When I was 13, I made a very foolish short-term business investment: I set up a comic book stand and sold two trunks full of comic books. Made more money than I had ever had in my life. But if I had saved those trunks, they’d be worth $100,000 today. [Laughter]”

(President Reagan was a fan of the funny pages. Eisenhower (and other presidents) were honored by the National Cartoonists Society.)

@ Tony
Thank you for your encouragement.
@ Torsten
Thank you for your suggestions.
A search function was already planned, is now being tested and will be added soon. Sorting the author index by last name would be useful, I will give it a thought. I didn’t understand the “question mark icon” bit, sorry.
About Clinton’s quote: he has said that in several interviews (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BIAuETf3n4), but I just haven’t had time to transcribe it. So, thank you very much for sending!

Great site - I’ll be back every day!
I saw a Picasso quote somewhere, along the lines of “my one regret is that I never made comics” - and there’s a Desmond Tutu one out there if you can find it!
Thanks for doing this!
